How to use a Leg Lifter

The Leg Lifter is designed to aid patients in getting in and out of bed, by offering additional support in lifting one, or both, of their legs. The Leg Lifter is designed to be used independently by the patient, to negate the need of additional assistance from a carer. It’s made from strong webbing, with a semi rigid insert. There is a loop at either end of the Leg Lifter; the smaller is designed as a handle to secure the patient’s grip, and the larger is used to loop around the patient’s foot.

Instructions Of Using The Leg Lifter

• The Patient simply has to loop the Leg Lifter over their foot; the semi rigid insert allows the patient to do this without the need for bending forward and touching their toes.
• Then Holding the handle the patient can support the movement of the leg and the foot, in getting in and out of bed.
• The Leg Lifter can also be used to support both legs in movement; simply loop the Leg Lifter over one foot, and then cross that leg under the other. The Patient can then use the Leg Lifter to aid both legs comfortably and safely, in and out of bed.
