What Mobility and Transfer Products Are Covered by NDIS

A fundamental part of the NDIS is Assistive Technology that enables access to necessary equipment and mobility aids for the participants.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the scheme supported by the Australian Government and aims to empower permanently disabled Australians.

The idea with Assistive Technology is to assist the participants in living a normal, fulfilling life. As a participant, you are eligible for the funding if the specific support required is in your plan. Often, the NDIA requires assessments and the AT will only be funded if it relates to the disability and goals.

AT encompasses a broad range of equipment and mobility aids, and we have outlined some of these below. Depending on what is approved in your plan, the NDIS may provide funding for the following.

Ceiling Hoists 

Molift
Ceiling Hoists are used to transfer people between two locations. A ceiling
hoists compromises of a track, which is fitted to the ceiling and, an electrically
powered lifting motor, which is also attached to a sling. There are many
benefits of using a ceiling hoist such as its effectiveness.
